The purpose of the project is to explore potential models for establishing a new general hospital for Šibenik-Knin County. The analyses assessed the current healthcare needs of the county and projected these needs over the next 30 years. Based on this analysis, an architectural and construction concept, along with a conceptual solution, were developed.
The analysis indicated that the optimal hospital capacity includes 237 inpatient beds, 104 places in day hospitals, and 9 operating rooms. Plans also include essential facilities such as healthcare support rooms, a technical section, a professional laundry, a kitchen, visitor areas, and spaces for science and education. The total gross area of the building is 55,000 m².
A detailed list of necessary medical equipment for each functional area was compiled. Additionally, the consultant proposed an optimal energy concept, guidelines for sustainable green construction, a financial and economic analysis, a risk analysis, and a project implementation plan.
The total investment cost of the project is estimated to be around €240 million.
