The project “EU for Cohesion Policy” showcases WYG’s role in supporting EU accession preparations in the area of Cohesion Policy (Chapter 22) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The TA focuses on strengthening institutional capacities across all levels of governance, establishing key building blocks for Cohesion Policy implementation, and supporting the country’s preparation for EU membership. WYG contributes to the design and delivery of a comprehensive capacity building programme, including training, on-the-job support, and study visits, targeting institutions involved in EU integration and funds management.
In parallel, the project supports the definition of NUTS regions, improvement of regional statistics, and preparation of analytical and methodological frameworks for regional development planning. It also includes development of a roadmap for Cohesion Policy alignment and direct support to Chapter 22 negotiations, ensuring that institutional, regulatory, and coordination requirements are progressively met.
Overall, the assignment combines policy development, capacity building, and accession support, contributing to the establishment of a functional and EU-compliant Cohesion Policy system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
