With the support of WYG Consulting Ltd., Public Open University Samobor has successfully implemented the “Gastro Club for Smart Employment” project, which was designed to increase the employability of the most vulnerable groups in Zagreb County. The project allowed job seekers to gain professional qualifications and strengthen their competencies, thus bettering their position on the labour market.
At a total value of HRK 978,916.19, this project was 100% financed by the European Social Fund. Across a span of 24 months, the project developed and implemented new educational programmes intended to connect the unemployed from Zagreb County’s most vulnerable groups with employers and strengthen their position on the labour market.
Project partners included Samobor city government, the Croatian Employment Service, Samobor Secondary Vocational School, the Samobor School of Economics, Trade, and Hospitality, and the Pozitiva Samobor Sustainable Development Association.
The project developed and implemented two new adult education programmes, “Electricians for Smart Homes” and “Chef Specialist in Northwestern Croatian Cuisine”; a pre-existing programme, “Preparing Simple Dishes and Desserts”, was also included in the project. An online learning platform was also developed, which POU Samobor will use to implement its adult educational programmes.
Through the project, the two vocational schools received valuable equipment that will help improve the quality of hands-on education for high school students and adult education programmes implemented by the School of Economics, Trade, and Hospitality.
WYG Consulting Ltd. provided professional support in project management and partner coordination.
